Eyesby LevTComment by willem: Not sure how to rate this one. I like the room, the colors, the light. I think probably a viewpoint which would not be from the middle and at normal view height could be better. Also the star effect seems a bit overdone. |

Swirl! by LevTComment by RamblinR: Originally posted by LevT: Originally posted by roz: [...] also i think its an extremely fantastic shot with that lens .. did you crop it a lot ...

only cropped about a half, he was not very far. It is a wonderful lens, the first super-zoom I've had that does not disappoint in sharpness or clarity throughout the entire zoom range. |
Whilst I have the 40-150 pro f2.8 and the 1.4 teleconverter I find that the images become soft with the 1.4tc and need to be stopped down to f5 to get the sharpness back. I have been experimenting by shooting both Raw and Jpeg and using the x2 digital zoom for my surf shots. Generally do this when I am shooting with the lens fully extended to 150mm. So with the crop factor added and then the 2x digital zoom I get a focal length of 600mm with images that are sharp from f2.8. Have been pleasantly surprised with the results. If I need more reach I add the 1.4tc. The image I submitted was one using this method. I also have the 12-100 lens and I will use this when travelling to get extra reach which makes this lens even more versatile. The Jpeg files are quite large (approx 8mp). Anyway, just thought I would mention it in case you haven't thought to give it a try. I won̢۪t use it for everything but it̢۪s handy to have Message edited by author 2021-01-05 07:51:32. |
