Last glimpse by LevTComment by willem: I think sunsets are usually overrated, but I really like this one. The wide angle, the smooth water and reflections, the deep blue colors, the people, the sky. Wonderful. |

Bewitched Forest by LevTComment by PenelopeK: Congratulations, a wonderful use of the wide-angle Fisheye Lens. The trees taper so much that I could swear the tops are actually moving in this image.
After we move we will be surrounded by a different vegetation including much taller trees than typically grow here on Cape Cod, and this will encourage me to include the wide-angle Fisheye when I start capturing our new surroundings.. (we will still be in Massachusetts, but nearer Boston). Message edited by author 2021-06-09 18:08:41. |

Bewitched Forest by LevTComment by LevT: Originally posted by willem: Great viewpoint and impressive trees, but not low contrast in my view. The shapes come out so well exactly because of the contrast between trees and sky. If you look at the histogram you also see a very wide distribution of tones across nearly the total spectrum. In low contrast I would expect a narrow band of tones. I do like the fact that the trees are not all black and still show different tones and detail. |
Thank you Willem. Perhaps you're right and I should have made it even less contrasty (would be very easy to do in p/p). To my defense, there are no black or white tones in this image at all. So it is a low contrast image in my book. Not very low, but low :). |

Bewitched Forest by LevTComment by roz: this is so dramatic and so full of atmosphere ..
it seems more a mixture of low contrast and high contrast .. just because of the difference between the darker bits of the trees and the beautiful soft background and lighter trees ..
but that's just my opinion and i'm not an authority ..
i'm glad this got the blue .. because it really is stunning ..
its one of those images that will remain in my memory for a long time ..
like a wonderful song ..
oh .. btw .. CONGRATULATIONS on the blue .. :) |

Surf'n'Turf by LevTComment by JakeKurdsjuk: Three images stood out above the rest for me in this challenge - my 1 a, b & c. This was one of them and reminded me that I need to break out the drone again. Well done. |
