This reminds me of the last reunion my family had. It was for the loss of our eldest member - my great-grandmother passed away just shy of 100 years! I wasn't able to go to the funeral/reunion because I was out of the country for school, but I know that at such a time having your family around can be a great lift to the spirit.

How sad for their loss. Family can be a great source of calm and refuge when there is pain..this group sure has a lot of life to celebrate!

the human spirit is a wonderful thing .. its an excellent photograph seeing all those smiling faces considering their loss .. i spent a while looking at all the ppl and i can see so many with a family resemblence .. a couple look like the same person only older/younger .. :)

First, I am so sorry for your loss. You have, however, captured what seems to be a happy, loving moment here. I can only image how important these images will be for these family members from this day forward. Great job! (I'm afraid of heights too, and could not for love or money stand on a picnic table to shoot a picture)
