This is interesting. I am not used to see birds like this so close to the ground and when I have seen shots of them close to the ground it is desert (or scenes like that) so the grass is a nice different touch. The shot seems pretty sharp to me but I would like to see the wing tips either completly stopped or ahve a bit more motion but that is much easier said than done:) Crop is maybe a bit close but not bad. Only thing I can really say I would want is to ahve his prey in the shot too.great job.

No actually, just a few hot pixels to clone out of the print - it was so cold that the sensor generated hardly any noise.

The problem with such long exposures, of course, is the ambient light. I would have liked to see you boost the contrast to make the sky a little darker, even if it meant losing definition on the boat. I'm also a little confused why the trails are different colors - are they not stars?

I tried boosting the contrast but the boat just looked tacky - and since this is basic, i couldn't manipulate the contrast selectively. The stars were actually those colours - maybe they're not stars, but they were up in the sky, whatever they were :)

Without sounding like a boffin the difference in colours from stars comes from the light which they emit due to the heat that they are burning at and as different temps means different colours of the spectrum they show as different colours so there now you know!!

What a fun shot! Technically superior, with just the right amount of whimsy. Very nice job.

Lots of fun and humor in this shot! I really like the "floating" lollypop...it's weird in a a good way. I find the lack of detail in the center of the ice distracting, just a bit too blown out. The necklace also draws undue attention especially because it merges with the form of the wine glass. Limited color pallet is spot on, though, and the facial expression carries the theme well.

It's good to see a photo with an actual message, that seems to be a rarity these days on dpc. Well done.

Very good work! Nice blue and good setup. When I saw the thumbnail I was thinking you spelled the title wrong but now I see you didn't.
