Visageby strangeghostComment by joezl: Wonderful shot. In terms of votes, subtlety doesn't pay as well as "in your face". I hope you are prous of your shot anyway. |

Visageby strangeghostComment by marmalade1121: Wow. Looking at it in retrospect I think I should've scored this higher. My apologies--as really stylistically this beats all the cows hands down. Maybe because I was getting so used to the bovines & glass bottles (all obvious) I didn't realize the milk as backdrop.
Either way, this is a beautifully done photograph. If I could've gotten through all the dairies this time around I may have come across this again and upped the anty. My apologies that I didn't give you at least an 8 or 9. |

Visageby strangeghostComment by chadb: I'm sorry, I just don't get how anyone can think this WASN'T pertaining to the challenge. I thought this was a great photo and a VERY creative use of a DAIRY product. Technically and creatively a great picture that should have scored much higher. |

Visageby strangeghostComment by scalvert: A very strong visual in its own right, and I can see the milk (I presume) around the eyes, but it's not really "about" dairy IMO. A 6 on the appeal factor. |

IMG_4644.jpgby strangeghostComment by SJCarter: OMG - This is such a fantastic shot, I can't believe no one has commented on it before. It is very reminiscent of a challenge entry (not sure if it's yours or not, but I think it probably is). Wonderful anticipation captured here - you're just waiting for the moment when the action/kill is most opportune! I do think that the image would benefit from reducing the backlighting/increasing contrast/burning the brighter areas a bit. You have amazing detail on the bird and surroundings - the DOF is perfect. I just think you could capitalize on it even further by making it pop with some deep, rich (almost surreal) tones. |

Lake Mendota Sunsetby strangeghostComment by SJCarter: Very nice capture. Very emotive. The silhouetted couple is very pleasing to the eye. I would suggest perhaps darkening the water (without losing the reflections) by reducing the backlighting, increasing the contrast, and/or burning. It seems surprisingly bright compared the rest of the image. Very nice shot. |
