Road to Perditionby L1Comment by taterbug: I love this shot. I see many 'cemetary' photos, most usually don't do much for me. This one has a purpose, a meaning, some real depth to it that really appeals to me. Obviously, the road has a great 'S' curve leading the viewer strongly into the image. Very well placed in the composition. The rich hues of the fallen leaves really accentuate this and offset the overall starkness of the setting. The path heads toward the darkness, unkown and foreboding, through the setting of the scattered graves and bleak stripped trees. Very thought provoking, very cool. Great photo, and indicative of a 'darker' side of Laurie not seen before :-), I like it! Message edited by author 2006-01-17 10:55:14. |

Outhouse on the Edge of Heavenby L1Comment by SJCarter: It's a gorgeous sky and it's a great ground setting, but I'm not sure that the two really compliment each other - if you know what I mean. That may have been what you were going for - I don't know. To me, the sky screams happy, beautiful, warm, loving... And the ground says harsh, stark, cold, unfeeling, and lonely. So, I would probably crop out a large portion of the sky (and perhaps make this two shots - the other with all sky and just a touch of the ground). |

Monument to Lost Soulsby L1Comment by SJCarter: Nice composition and color choices. As nards656 said, the crooked building really gives this a twisted perspective. This whole series has a VERY lonely feel to it. |

Road to Perditionby L1Comment by SJCarter: Great leading line of the road into the black, dark background and very evil looking tree limbs - making the title that much more thought provoking. Certainly leaves the viewer wondering exactly what you meant with this image. The unusually warm tones of the ground (autumn leaves?) could also be symbolic of glowing fires or embers...
Have you turned to the dark side? ;-) j/k!! Great job! |

Weatheredby L1Comment by SJCarter: Great title & processing. Even the "finish" looks weathered (as if age and the elements have worn away some of the finer details). Very nice work. |

Monument to Lost Soulsby L1Comment by nards656: I like how the crooked building makes this look like you have a really weird lens! LOL! This is nice, and very thought provoking. I guess you fixed whatever the tremendous spelling problem was. It must have been terrible, based on previous comments...
Nice pic! |
