the centered composition is a bit boring. and except for a blown-out sun reflection, it is not a high contrast photo, in my opinion.

A tight crop on either side would remove the distraction of the brightly lit trunk, and some of the distraction in the background. Nice texture and detail.

While there is some high contrast in this photo, for me, the subject is too centered and not enough overall contrast - the sides of your photo lack interest. I do like how you cut off the sun at the top however.
