I Am Not Afraidby grahamgatorComment by Purple_Girl: Great DOF, love your subject. I might have selected the wee spot where the light speckles on the (is that a potato?) and lowered the cyan and magenta channels as they're a bit prominent. Otherwise, I really like this, good luck with it. |

Stop and Smell the Rosesby grahamgatorComment by vawendy: I'm really not fond of droplet on rose shots. They're done so often, and there's not much that's special about them.
That being said...
This is truly spectacular!
The rose looks velvety, the drops are perfectly lit and just glow. Beautifully done -- congrats on the top 10. :) |

Stop and Smell the Rosesby grahamgatorComment by samrusoff: I've tried doing droplet shots on flowers time and time again and this is a perfect representation of what I am hoping it will come out like, although it always falls short. Great DOF, fantastic sharpness. I would love for this photo to be in the "How'd They Do That" section, because I really want to learn how this was done. I'm guessing plentiful lighting was key, for the reflections on the drops and also to allow a high f-stop without getting noisy. wonderful photo. |
