Shake it Up Reduxby vawendyComment by streetpigeon: This is really cool, a sterling take on the usual shaking off dog picture. The droplets spiral off this bird (tern?) in proof of aerodynamic mastery. Catching amimals living their lives is so much more rewarding than mere illustration, not that there can't be wonder in that, too. But it's the individuality that comes out, the kinship of us all. You allow us to imagine, to feel what it is to soar along, lifted by air and propulsion, performing everyday miracles. The darker portion of the background nicely sets off the brightnbess of the bird.
Thank you. |

Big Yellow Feetby vawendyComment by PenelopeK: I just noticed that the shutter speed was 1/2500!
My 2 cents. A few years ago when I was playing around with panning I found that it can be hard to achieve a shallow depth of field and a long enough exposure time to capture noticeable panning unless you add a neutral density filter. Then again, when you are panning depth of field may not be much of an issue since much of the image will be fairly blurred. Message edited by author 2020-07-10 17:41:12. |

Big Yellow Feetby vawendyComment by pgirish007: to me, it is not a panning but a speed shot with great bokeh as I do not see the bird way behind showing up as moving. indeed a nice capture! |
