This really probably should have ribboned. It has a much stronger emotional connection than the 3rd place, IMO.. and is technically stronger than the blue ribbon.. again, IMO.

Congrats on the top 10 though, and you have a timeless image for the rest of your days.

The make-up she's wearing makes it almost a little too.. perfectly set-up, if you know what I mean.

You'll be running into artifacting danger if you try and print this too large, I think.. but that's from looking at *this*. Make sure your printable file isn't sharpened so much.

It's a beautifully emotive B&W. Very nice. The haloing around the child is something you either love or hate too, so if you like it, that's all that matters.

I've always loved the backlighting on this shot, and how you were able to get such great details in the shadow. Something I've always strived for and never really been able to accomplish.

Anyway, now you have 4000 comments and you can go gloat :)
