The Blockby KatmystiryComment: I like the fact the players are sharp but the ball has some motion blur to it. I also like all the colours, they have come out well, it's a shame you weren't on the other side of the player so you could capture some of their faces. I'd have been tempted to zoom in for an even tighter crop.
Your exif says f/1.7 this time, weird! :) |

SMC-swimming-2008-051.jpgby cryanComment: I really like this, the motion of his arm with the clearness of his face and the water works well. I like the framing of the lane markers as well.
As for noise I ran a noise ninja pass @ strength 5, smothness 5 with the usm @ 50% @ 1.2px on the whole image and then just a quick selection of the lane marker and the water above it and ran another pass @ strength 10, smothness 10 and usm 0 and then another quick selection on his hand... |

Sports Day 1by KatmystiryComment: Looks like tough light from the sun. Great stopped action, I like how the player is being surrounded by the other 3 :) The building in the background is a shame, the exif says f/1.6 which is a little strange, I assume you were more like f/5.6. If your aperture was smaller then the building may have disappeared more. Also, it may have been up hill but it looks a little tilted to me. Maybe a different shot could be a portrait shot cropped right in on the single player with the arms attacking |

IMG_3913 edit copy.jpgby ZippyComment: Great focus and excellent dof to isolate the player. I like the fact her eyes are really nice and clear and they lead you to the ball.
You could play with colour balance to drop the yellow a little, you could also shoot in RAW so you can then adjust the white balance afterwards. Personally I'd have been tempted to run a weak(ish) noise ninja (or equiv) pass to remove some noise without making her face to soft. |
