Country Bicycleby ed728Comment: I like this photo, it's not every day you see a kid with a homemade bike! Duotone works very well here. I like his expression, and the way that the person pulling is facing away, the combination enhances the fleeting quality of the capture. 9 |

Barb on Fogby Ric371Comment: Interesting shot... the drop of water makes all the difference here. The lighting on the barbed wire is great, I like your composition. Shame about the pinkish blob on the right. 9 |

Nature, Simplicity, Countryby paganiniComment: Beautiful picture, my only 10 this challenge. Great green, the overall saturation is spot-on. The composition is good, even the angle of the wings is perfect. Nice one! 10 |

Crowded : Low Keyby crabappl3Comment: I love this picture, but don't feel it is really low-key enough. The faces are what you focus on, and they are LIGHT! I do like the shadow on the middle boy's face. They all have great expressions, there was some good chemistry here. 7 |

Seriously Thirty Somethingby PaigeComment: A beautiful picture, the texture of the wood contrasts nicely with the light tones in the face. The wood grain is also mirrored nicely by the texture of your hair, the fact that these have lines running parallel heighten their textures. Nicely cropped. 9 |

Broken Mirror = 7 years bad luck by TwocentzComment: A beautiful picture, this one really appeals to me. The sepia toning is very effective, and adds to the wistful expression in the eyes. I'm sure the crack running across the face has some kind of deep psychological symbolism here, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Perhaps like a kind of heartbreak or loss. Shame about the distracting background in the mirror. The white background works very well. It's also a shame that the border is not an even width at the bottom. 9 |

Anger Managementby ozdickComment: The teeth are what makes this shot particularly effective for me. Very effective shot, I admire it's 'edginess'. Effective lighting and shadows. 9 |

Self Enlightenment by jerrftComment: You should score very highly with this one, maybe #1. Having waded through all the portraits, many stunningly good, yours stands out as being the most creative and inventive. My favourite this challenge! Brilliant dof, it's incredible how sharp everything is, while still being fairly dark. Great concept. Impressive lighting. 10 |

Loversby agwrightComment: The harsh lighting on here makes this seem less loving and more aggressive. Too much glare, to my taste there is too much contrast in this shot, and not enough exploration of the subtleties of the darker shades. 4 |
