contrastsby amsmythComment: The colors are very nice, and I like the different textures. The lighting seems just a touch harsh on the right so, though. |

by BassInABandComment: I like the way the linear direction sets up one contrast, as does the texture of the rocks and feet, adn the tan lines. I do think cropping some of the empty part on the right would help to focus attention on the feet better, if that is what you wanted to do. |

Meltingby heidaComment: CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE

I really like the deep rich colors on this, and I think the warmth that the picture has really adds to the melting ice effect. You have done well capturing what had to be a fairly difficult shot with good focus and exposure. I also like how the out of focus reflection gives it a suspended look.
As I mentioned during the challenge, the framing bothers me a touch. I can see why it is composed as it is (to include the entire reflection), but it still seems a bit tight for me at the top. Perhaps just a bit more room up there would give it a more open feeling. Or, if you could have enough space up there to place the flower/ice on the lower horizontal third, it would have a nice balanced feeling, too, I think. Of course, I understand that by doing that, you may lose some wonderful detail.
again, a very nice shot that leaves the viewer with just enough questions to make the shot interesting, but not so many as to frustrate him/her.
Best to you in future challenges.

Back to Back - Old to Newby danwanComment: Great capture. I don't know if it was possible or if it would have helped, but showng more of a straight on shot so that the truck was even more visible might have given more drama to the shot. |

Contrasting Handsby KevinRiggsComment: Great idea. A solid background would have really helped this shot -- or converting to bw so that the "obviousness" of the different colors wouldn't be noticed. |

Follow that chariotby dasserComment: Interesting juxaposition between the mural and car. I think a faster shutter speed to get the car clearly in focus, or a slower one to get more motion would help. Also, more of the care (vertically) is needed, I think, for more impact. |
