If the whole body was as in focus as the head/eye area, this shot would be awesome. It is still a good shot, but it makes me want to see the body better.

My 2yo picked this one out of the page of thumbnails. He really likes it. He says it is "soft" so in that respect, I guess you nailed the "texture" part of the challenge. I like the bw, though it may have been more dramatic if the background was the same color as the feet and ears. Also, maybe get a little more closer so it is not so centered -- it kinda looks static and non-dynamic.
