Jazz Legend Cecil Taylor by pawdrixComment: Cecil's playing never really appealed to me; I appreciate him in the sense that he broke down a lot of barriers and paved the way for the "avant garde" (a slippery phrase in jazz if there is one). He owes his style to no one, so God bless him for that. He's a legend and a genius, and this great portrait shows us some of that. Thanks for sharing it with us. _DSC1655 curlers 800.jpgby pawdrixComment: This is probably the most satisfying image I've seen so far in this side challenge. The lack of treatment is its strength. Adding to faves. |

Scootersby MelethiaComment: Too awesome. Almost abstract but still very accessible. I love the lines and shadows. You should teach composition (and start with me!). |

Day 03 - Spottedby shalrathComment: I've looked at this a few times now and am just now getting around to commenting on it. It makes me laugh. He doesn't look amused -- but all of us here are privy to the behind-the-scenes story, and the average viewer probably wouldn't get it. Good job! |

Whaleby GermaineComment: Nicely composed. Not sure how I feel about the glow effect, but it's a fun kind of shot anyway. |

zeroby MelethiaComment: I think the ISO is fine, but I bet I'll be dazzled by whatever you do. Good clarity and sharp focus here. The two poster heads bookending the scene really work. I think the girl saw you. |

Woman in Whiteby citymarsComment: A little something is lost in the noise for me -- and believe me, I'm the kind of noise, so I'm usally pretty forgiving as far as that goes. That aside, I love the pose and the expression and the moment that you've captured here. The single wayward strand of hair and the business around her neck really add a lot to the story. |

Whacked - Sweenio "The Pinky" Toddescoby pawdrixComment: The background is distracting. I guess I need my medicine... HA! Just kidding. I love it. Lots to look at here and a great (if not quite intentional) environmental portrait. |
