Early morning coloursby tp-fcpComment: The soft focus has a nice effect on the colors/lights. It igives the feeling of early morning nicely. You've tried to tie the composition together - the line of grass lead to the corner, the building frames the left side, same amount of sky at top as pavemnt at the bottom. Very well thought out and balanced, but I still feel the interest is too difuse (no pun intendid) nothing to focus on, although the cars do draw your attention, but they're not what you want to look at. Perhaps with a person, or a couple under the forground light? |

Don't Drink and Driveby PaulMdxComment: Good message. The soft focus is meant to show the impared jperception of someone who has been drinking. I usually think of soft focus to portray something sentimental, romantic, angelic..but this is a harsh reality. It is original, but I'm not sure it works for me. |

Soft science...by wetlandComment: Novel idea. I'm not sure how well soft focus goes with science IMHO. But "soft" or fun science can be a wonderful way to lead people into learning. I like the light on your subject's hair - the soft focus works well there making her hair seem to glow. I wish there were more light on her face - then the soft focus there would make her sking seem to glow - but without the light it really only loks outof focus to me. |

My First Christmas Tree by SonifoComment: very lovely and appropriate use of soft focus. The tree seems to be reaching out to embrace her, and she has such a special expression on her face - concentration, magic. You have depicted this as if it were seen through memory. I like the backlight - but wish the wooden bar and horizontal shadow weren't there, or at least were so pronounced. Its also a bit dark on the top left. 8 |

The Smell of Natureby qazwixComment: Lovely color and composition. The narrow DOF makes the petals look like they are stretching to the edges of the picture - dynamic! Wish the crop wasn't quite so close on the right, just a little more breathing room for the center of the flower would be better. Just a bit sharper focus o the flower center? 8 |

Fragranced by sahkoComment: Really wonderful. The light catches her body just right - wish there were a line of light to indicate her neck. The spray is well captured. wish it were darker in the bottom left corner - the detail of the bra/bikini top is a tiny bit distracting. 9 |

Snow Is In the Airby GPComment: I love the golden diagonal light - especially how it contrasts with the cold gray trees. I think you rcould crop out the top bit of sky, and add more of the ground in the foreground. It would even up the two aspects of this photo that stand out. |

Hayfeverby keoneComment: Nice color - golden straw. Great composition - the woods and field cutting the picture not quite in half - the scattering of bales, and one big one to focus on in the forground. I like the light making dark circles on the ends of the bales. Could the big bale be a bit further into the frame? More on the 3rds line? 8 |

The sweet smell of lunchby loz1Comment: I keep coming back to this. I like the b/w, I like the reach of the zebra's neck from the bottom right corner. The curves of the zebra's head and neck are mirrored i the wall behind. I might crop some of the top off, make it a little less busy. 8 |

Smell The Purpleby ShovalComment: Great expression, inhaling smell, peaceful. however the light is too blue and flat. The picture to dark and flat. perhaps taking this at a time with more sunlight. |
