_DSC3886day9.jpgby griz210Comment: I was going to say something about the fine stonework in the area you live in, but I see you have already said that.
The overcast lighting is fine with me in this case, as the lack of shadow allows study of the details in the areas that would be too dark to see in direct sunlight. We have very little stone in the area where I live, so I find these buildings to be very interesting.
The building and grounds look very well maintained. |

Day 9 A River Runs Through Itby ElaineComment: The water looks nice and clear. This sure is a winter looking scene with no green anywhere. I feel that green foliage is what I would miss most if I lived that far north. |

DAY 11 . where i live . horse .by rozComment: I like the crop as it is. Shorter at the bottom would take away the view of the ground leading to the horse.
That sure is a dry looking place. I am wondering if you cloned out something above the horses shoulder, and just beyond the cut off limb? Message edited by author 2007-02-09 10:46:35. |

DAY 10 . where i live . virtual crossingby rozComment: I can see that this sort of photo-melding would be useful for an advertising image, in a way similar to the artwork in ads of the 1950's and 60's. It is good to be learning how the tools work to get this to happen in the digital domain. It's a bit disconcerting to see the bare tracks ahead of the cars, as it would be a rough ride just ahead for them.
Are the one lane bridges common in your area of the world?
Nice doodle! |

Day 9by karmatComment: Excellent night shot. Industry in action sort of thing. It is good that the "smoke" is just steam, and not smoke. It is a good view of the machinery that drives the local economy. Exposure and focus are right on target, and with a very stable camera support. The exposure info may be useful to some of us who need a shot like this someday if you would post it. |

Day 8by karmatComment: I like the way the sunlight and shadow plays across the mountains as the sun rises and sets. I would like to see this scene in the mornings in spring or fall. It's fortunate that the air was so clear for you to get this capture this morning. |

Stormy Dayby daboardergirlComment: Sure looks bleak and wintery in your area. I have tried many times to get this type shot in the tall grass, and it is quite a trick to get it to look good in a pic. I am with you on the "no definite subject" comment.

Day-9-Winter-Scene.jpgby IvoryComment: The snow in the air and blue going into the forest behind help to make this a very cold looking scene. Just the right DOF for the subject to stand out, and to have some of the limbs near it also in focus. I wonder at the way these little creatures have adapted so that they can survive the cold and snow thru the winter. |
