This is quietly lovely. I don't see it as a negative that the eyes aren't drawn to a certain point - in some shots, like this one for example, having the pleasure of letting the eyes wander and take in the whole is a good thing. I like the gentleness of it. |

Very pretty, dreamy feel. Nice job getting the golden grass against the storm clouds. This has potential to have many different looks depending on processing. It's nice as is. You could also try one with very high contrast and see what you think. |

I really like this, I like the colour of the grass and the way it leads your eye to the bleak sky!! |

Yes..that is snow in the grass. Actually, with this pathetic excuse of a winter, this is some of the only snow I've seen all winter! |

Oh no, I don't think that's a negative at all. Bear_Music, the landscape extraordinaire, talks about that all that time -- about the effectiveness of images without subjects. This one is gorgeous. And like you say, its the soft dreamy simplicity and the fact that it draws you into the whole scene without having you zoom in on any one thing that makes it works.
Is that snow in those grasses. This is really beautiful!

Sure looks bleak and wintery in your area. I have tried many times to get this type shot in the tall grass, and it is quite a trick to get it to look good in a pic. I am with you on the "no definite subject" comment.
