I like both versions of this for different reasons. The before shot has the darker cooler greens, and looks inviting, as though I could just stroll down the path to cool off. This edited version with it's color adjustments looks more true to life I would suppose, and the details in all the plants show up better, which is technically better. The edit version seems to have more reality, while the original has that dreamy whimsical look.

What a cool looking creature. The shade gives an overall greenish tint, but that is what it actually looked like with sun shining thru the leaves. I guess that the cat was hearing your camera and lens working, and was curious.

That is a nice looking bird. I wonder if the dark feathers are a result of it being in captivity and it's diet there at the zoo?
The VR did a nice job of keeping this sharp with the 300mm at 1/90 sec. The eye is the attention point for me in this image.

Nice detail in the feathers. It would have been more fun to see the bird splashing and shaking off the water the way they do when they bathe.

Grass of any kind is difficult to photograph well up close. Your experiment worked nicely, as the shallow DOF at 1.4 makes the foreground detail show nicely while getting that warm fuzzy feel deeper in the image. The light must have been early or late to be able to shoot at 1.4 and 350.

What a lovely nature shot. The heron looks great with the dark background, and I also like that you left a lot of foreground in the image to give it depth and show the environment. Good processing helped too.

Judy, have you been messing with that "gothic glow" filter again? This, thanks to your magic, is just beautiful. You made a shot of something relatively ordinary into a very special treat. I like the title too.

Your rabbit looks better than my rabbit : )
I like your desat, and the way the details in the fur show up this way. Cool pose too.

It appears that zoos are the place to get a lot of good images of exotic creatures. The nearest one of any size from where I live, is about 60 miles. I live in the edge of the Florida Everglades, so I get to see a lot of native animals when I want to go to where they live.
The environment behind the animal in this shot is good for bringing the lighter color of the animal to the front of the image. The green grass in the BG looks out of place for the cheetah that normally would be found in golden savannah country in Africa. This would be stronger to me if cropped to a head and shoulders shot of the animal, and it seems sharp enough to get away with the extreme crop. The eyes say a lot in this shot.
