Day 05 - Singingby hajekaComment: The bright clothing, the focus point, and DOF with the long lens shot brings the primary subjects right out front in this image. It looks like everyone was having a good day on the water.
I find myself wanting to have a look at the black boat with the prow in the edge of the photo. |

5-july 08 overlays. strathfield car radioby rozComment: First thought: This is very busy.
Second thought: I wonder what little gems I can find hidden in this if I explore it for a minute.
The gems: The face at the left edge, and the "Trolley Return". Here they are called "shopping carts". I learned another Aussie term. It would not have connected if the "trolley" was not in the photo. |

Scoot.jpgby cablondeoneComment: The low angle light and deep blue of the sky makes this look like "Super Pooch" for sure. The palm gives the shot good depth and scale as well as being a nice frame for the subject.
The wind blown brown tips of the palm make me think that this may be near the coast. |

Pheasant - Day 5by sherpetComment: That's an amazing shot Shez. It's so sharp and clear. It looks a lot like a porcupine with all the pin feathers. |

Selvellirby arnarpallComment: This is a nice scene. The left edge is quite dark. If that is by choice, then it is good. The clouds are a big part of what makes this work for me by setting the mood.
It is similar in point of view to one that I entered in the last "Red" challenge. It got some comments about being dark, but it also picked up a lot of views and comments.

Texas Afternoonby JutildaComment: I like the subject, and the light in this shot. The toning brings out the light in the tall grass heads nicely. This is a good example of taking an ordinary rural scene up to the next level with your processing skills. |

by GermaineComment: Sweet, and artistic too. It's just a striking image. The bright red on the subject in the arch stands out and takes my attention there. |

Butterflyby SandyPComment: This shot looks like it would be difficult with a living moving little critter. I just got a 105/ 2.8 Micro Nikkor, and can not believe how little DOF there is at max aperture. I use a monopod, and hope that the breeze don't blow.
Nice detail in the antenae, and eyes in this shot. |
