I love old abandoned places like this. The toning, the comp with the mountains in the BG sort of repeating the rooflines work for this subject, giving it a look of a place photographed long ago.

DPC tutorial about preparing images for DP Challenges.
If you have Photoshop, maybe this will help. The max image size in pixels has changed to 800 pixels on the longest side since this tutorial was posted. If you don't have Photoshop, you can post a new thread, or research some of the older threads here about simpler ways to get the desired pixel count and file size. The file size thing confused me for a while, but someone here helped me learn how to set the file size.
This is a nice photo. Keep shooting and enjoy your time with your camera.

Impressive feather detail. I can't seem to do that because I tend to underexpose black birds. It looks like another eye in the corner, very cool.

This has style! It's very nice that the birds lined up for the excellent diagonal line. My eyes tend to follow the line from the top R to bottom L, then across to the details in the bottom R corner. It has water, evening sky, and birds, three of my fav subjects in one shot!
