Autumnal Streamby DJWoodwardComment: I'm not normally a fan of these shots, but this looks really nice.
I like the autumnal colours and the double motion off the waterfall and the eddy in the river. |

Cap d'Antibesby LevTComment: Lovely shot - very peaceful, great colours.
Personally I might have chosen less foreground and more sky, but it looks a delightful place to be at sunset :- ) |

The Toilet Paper Jugglerby hannkaComment: There's areally nice surreal element to this shot that makes me smile.
The red exit sign sadly pulls the eye away from the action, as does the fire alarm.
Darn those bright red colours :- ) |

Golden Tree of Kyotoby heavyjComment: There are a number of nice features in this photo.
Attractive model, nice outfit (including bag and shoes), nice backdrop, great colours in the foliage. Yet the parts don't quite come together for me as they should. Hmmm.
I wonder whether it might have been better as a landscape ? with the model more to the right of the picture ? As it is she is in the centre of the picture, but her body is actually facing out to the left. I think for me, this makes the picture look a little unbalanced. but the attention to detail is very good. |

Picture Of The Bird Whose Name I Dont Knowby pipsqueakComment: Delightful shot of a very handsome bird.
To me titles are a really important part of a picture, and their role can be informative and educational (explaining what something is or how it works) or they can be of a more emotional nature reaching out to draw the viewer in to a scene or story. Encouraging them to empathise with the situation, filling in the blanks in the picture so it's no longer just a bird on a tree but a whole situation that you now feel you know about and care about. With a picture like this you could go for either type of title and I guess the easiest one is to simply tell the viewer what they are looking at.
If the shot was taken at a Zoo or wildlife park you can go on their website and they very often have a list of all the birds and animals on display, (and by the beam it's sitting on I'm guessing this was captive), if it was taken in the wild ook it up on the internet.
You have a lovely shot of a bird here with nice clarity colour, composition and framing . . but it really needs a decent title to finish it off as it deserves :- ) |

Drive By Treeby jaysonmcComment: This is a really good shot and for me providing a real tension between what is essentially a timeless B&W landscape shot - great tree, clouds and hills . but it has this huge highway carved across the landscape trying to force this vision upto date.
The highway pushes movement, speed, noise and purpose against the still and calm of the weathered leafless tree and rolling landscape.
Very good. |

tough guyby jamesfraterComment: What a sweetie - well he is at the moment anyway :- )
I would have been tempted to rotate this to keep both his ears in shot, and try to get a little more detail out of thos ewonderful eyes of his.
But that aside he looks lovely. |

Serenityby luddeComment: Nice shot - would've been good in the silhoutte challenge :- )
I like the fact that there is just enough detail in the foreground to keep it integral to the picture - but not enough to distract. |
