Bull's-eyeby drydocComment: Oh, oh, very nice. Texture and light and shadow perfect (not easy in a white flower) for seeing and feeling the design of the bloom. In photos like this I am never sure whether to include edges or just go with the abstract geometry - you seem to have made a nice compromise. |

IMG_5447.jpgby drydocComment: Without looking at the other comments I would have said Celosia Toadicum obscurantum, believed to be very important in some folks' medicinal repertoire.
Photography full of hard choices! My guess is that you would have needed a telephoto to isolate the fresh sprout, or a wider aperture, but then we would have completely missed Toad in the mulch. Actually I tend to favour accident over control. (Just as well). T |
