Under a cloud of constructionby cogeroxComment: I agree, this is a wonderfully forboding and dramtic shot. The tonal range is wonderful and adds to the interest of the overall composition. Great job with the b/w conversion too. It has such great debth. |

Xylophoneby cogeroxComment: Yes, great image. I love the textures and non-symetrical composition. Great job incorperating those specular highlights into the overall composition and making it so interesting. |

My First Moon :-}by QuigleyComment: Nice moon, especially for your first try! A couple of things I have learned about taking moon shots is that 1 the moon is very bright and 2 it is moving really fast! I think you will be amazed if you bump up your ISO and shoot with a faster shutter speed. Here is a quote from the Internet which I have found to be true:
With exposures longer than 1/15 sec on a stationary camera, the moon's stately glide across the sky (at ~15 arc seconds per second) will be plenty fast enough to smear its shape and blur its features. An arc second here on Earth is a mile on the moon.

Day 21: Still Lifeby EstimatedEyesComment: This reminds me of a pencil drawing and that is my favorite median for art. I've spent many a hour with a number 2 pencil and paper just drawing fruits and other still life. Of course none of my drawings ever looked this good, but that isn't the point right? Interesting post processing, I'll have to try it. Awesome job with the light, composition, framing, etc..I really love it. |

Day 20: Leafby EstimatedEyesComment: I like this for several reasons, first and foremost because of the great lines. I also like the tonal quality of the viens and leaf. However, the blown white background is too distracting and creates an inbalance in the otherwise calm composition (and the negative space on the top left too). If it could be cropped tighter without loosing to much quality (although it looks like you have gone about as far as you can) it would have helped imho. Also shooting a little up from wide open might have given you a little better depth to work with. I Like it though for the graphic feeling as you say. Well done overall! |

Day 17: Stacksby EstimatedEyesComment: I love the shapes and the "clean" lines in this. Makes for a very interesting composition. The dark stacks really add balance. Interesting story too! |

Champlain Monumentby QuigleyComment: I love your composition here. The tree line coming to a point and drawing your eyes right up through the statue. There is enough form in the statue to give it great mystery. It is a great silhouette. |

Blinding lightby ATAPEComment: Wow, that is a great exposure! I love the light illumination of the plant heads. Very dramatic and effective. Makes for a terrific b/w! |

day 17by digitalpinsComment: Another very interesting composition! I love the face dead center and the darkness at the top, but I don't really like the "stuff" in the foreground right. It doesn't seem to fit the composition. Great tones once again! |

Lifelineby ATAPEComment: Very interesting composition! Was this cropped much? I'm wondering about the softness around the edges..could be my monitor. What was the f-stop and shutter speed? The detail and pattern is great but the center seems more sharp?
I love to let my eyes relax and follow the "darts" of the vains and the gentle shadows...
