This is monument that is the focus of our park at the waterfront. It boldly shows us how much better off we are because the white man came to our town. (This is the summed up version of the plaque and not the Opinion of the photographer)

You would need to see the rest of it and in detail but I didn't have the right light. So I'll save that for another day and I'll get a shot of the plaque as well, for all to see.

I can't say I agree with the sentiment of the statue, but I can say that the silhouette is just beautiful. I do love the image.

For the challenge it would need to be sharply focused. Also statues don't fare very well in challenges.

I love your composition here. The tree line coming to a point and drawing your eyes right up through the statue. There is enough form in the statue to give it great mystery. It is a great silhouette.

Nice shot - lots of light and lots of shadow. Pet peeve - "banding" in the sky - looks like a contour map rather than a smooth gradient - but that's just IMHO.

As it is shaping up it is true I am crazy my other one that I entered is tanking. To Artzy Fartzy I guess. DAMN I knew this would happen.

Are you crazy. This would have been great in the silhouette challenge. Very nice.

Great silhouette ... the sun is perfectly positioned behind the statue, and adds a nice flare. Surprised you didn't enter this in silhouettes, which must mean you have something even better over there. Nice pic
