Saw you thread. '1's happen all the time, and you need to understand that many different people from very different backgrounds vote on challenges here.

Your photo appears to be a bit overexposed, its not completely sharp in focus on the face, and the blade of grass across the front is a bit distracting. Close up insect shots are very common on DPC these days and those entered need to have WOW to score well.

While I would not vote this a 1, I don't think it is one of the better images in the challenge and would likely have voted it a 3 or 4 for the reasons stated above.
