Four o'clock in the afternoon, Antwerp, Belgiumby GreetmirComment: Greetmir - Well.... you have achieved more contrast here to make the B/W more interesting. The first issue is that there are not emough clouds or other background elements to offset this rather cool tower. In addition, there is a slight halo around the outside of the building - not too bad considering all the sharpening/ contrast you put in.
OVerall - good job 'rescue-ing'. But I must say that I do like this. Message edited by author 2007-02-12 07:04:51. |

5257 GOG Snow blur.jpgby smellyfish1002Comment: The contrast of the red rocks set off against the snow really works - I especially like the realistic treatment to the colors and the clouds over the mountains in the background. THanks for sharing this great image - Location?? |

Pool Tableby jdannelsComment: Thsi is an excellent shot - wonderful lighting, fantastic perspective using the superwide angle lens, the composition with the balls and cue to offset against the dark background - all make a winning combination. This would have been a great entry for table shot II.

Morning Strollby GreetmirComment: I like the surreal feel of this one. The image is going somewhere - the placement of the path and it vanishing around the bend makes this work. In addition, the order that is created by the trees set off in almost regular intervals (especially those freaky green ones!) just adds to the quality of the image. Nice work. |

The Bridgeby GreetmirComment: Greetmir - The issue I see with this one is the unrealistic colors - especially the almost neon green grass.
In addition, while I can see the bridge, there are so many other things in view - the leaning trees, the branches, etc. that the subject of the photo seems to get lost. Message edited by author 2007-02-07 07:05:54. |

Marblesby BeckyTComment: Here are a few thoughts about your image (by the way I gave it a 5 during the challenge - Not a bad image at all, just not a great image that says wow or tells me a story).
First of all, the image is rather static - the main subject is in the center of the image.
Second, the lighting is not very dramatic - the background is dark and the marbles seem to get lost in it. I would imagine this would have worked much better to show the colors on the marbles (mostly dark blues and reds, etc) on a bright background with bright lighting.
I do think you did a nice job of conveying shallow DOF - the focus on the marble in front is pretty good, but the darkness makes it hard to tell on quick glance
