i'm feeling this pic could have been an awesome addition to any exhibition held in that gallery .. its such an interesting building .. probably designed like that to fit the street around it or something .. just an assumption .. :)

your black and white edit seems perfect for this 'sad' scene ..
as the building looks burnt out .. i cant imagine a scenario where that could be a good thing .. hope the ppl who lived here went on to better things .
so i'll just contradict myself here . and say ..
but as sometimes happens .. out of a negative a positive is waiting just around the corner .. :)

this is looking a bit like a winner right now .. as in the challenge .
probably not in life or our interpretation of it ... if that makes sense .
there's so much this image has going for it .
of course the light coming in that window .. and the tones .
and it has been captured to perfection .

it really brings it home that a lot of the things we really value .. of a material nature .. maybe not as important as we think ..
as time moves on and our lives evolve will we value that 'thing' that means so much to us now at some future time .. often not at all .

i suppose you will get comments that this is more about the path than the abandoned buildings .. but i dont see it that way at all .
the path is leading us there .. and altho the buildings arent a huge element in the image .. i do feel something doesnt have to be a huge element to be an important one .. i like the sunlight, the shadows and how you have suggested rather than shown us the full story . :)
