ahha !!! .. this certainly looks great in b&w ... the colour version taken from a different angle has other things to recommend it .. i like the line formed from the top of the palms to the one lower down in the image, it takes my eye right into the centre .. :)

i read artyste's comment ... its interesting the way different ppl perceive different art ... the things that are apparently wrong with the photograph are some of the very things that i like .. i like the grain, & the sort'v messy look, especially on his shirt, i just love his expression, and altho his eye's would probably have benefited if they had been more in focus, they fit with the rest of the image ... this works so well in black & white ...
edit after another look .. i just love the shadows of his hair just about popping on his shirt and i love the contrasts going on ... the frizz of his hair especially at the very top of the image is just about cute !! :) ... i've just got to add that his expression is amazing .. and in some ways the white shirt, buttoned up to the top, doesnt live with the look .. they seem opposed in some way, which just adds to the appeal of this photograph ..

michelle ...... WOW !!...... this is the best photograph .. i absolutely love it .. the dof, the colurs, the sharpness of the bubble, the dark and the light, your composition, the details and simplicity (seems like a contradiction, but its not)... now THIS isnt boring!!!

great b&w portrait and excellent contrasts ... love the eyes .. all four of them!! .. i also like the way that the background is so dark and how your shirt fades off into it .. the child's expression is priceless and love how he's so focused on the camera ... the guy on the left looks wicked ..:)

as a thumb i wasnt sure i'd 'like' this ... but i was very pleasantly surprised .. the expression is great and the hands tell a story .. to me its a shame that the hand with the lifted finger isnt in focus .. looking more into this photograph and i notice the candles the lady is holding behind the boy ... all the elements create a story here ... which is an excellent achievement .. i think the 'story' would be be interpreted differently by different ppl depending on their own experiences .. i find the pattern on the dress an excellent contrast to the boy and his suit ...

a minute later .. i went and had a look but i'm not sure if its the same one ..
but i reckon this looks pretty good in b&w .. i like the incredible contrast between the spire and the backgrounds .. both the building itself and the sky ... great composition .. i like the lean ..

love the black and white!!! .. no really ... i love the dark, just about black background .. i especially love that stalk leaning off to the left out of focus and quite indistinct ..
altho looking again i'm finding it a distraction !!! i must be losing my mind .. but if just one person can have totally different opinion about the same photograph, then imagine the amount of opinions from many ppl ..
anyway .. i really like the contrast between your white daisies and the black background and i like your composition as well .. it's really a beautiful image ..

an interesting and arty shot ... i like all the lines going everywhere ... even the line formed by the heel of the shoe and the leg, coz they contrast in angle with the lines formed by the bricks, the paint on the road, the pavement and the gutter etc ... this shot really benefits from the graffiti ... its an excellent element in this unusual image ..

excellent photograph .. i love how the dark ppl are sitting in the dark part of the scene and the white lady is sitting in the brighter area .. i like how they dont seem to be aware of you taking their picture .. wot, are you invisible??!!! ... great candid shot and excellent composition .. very nicely balanced and even tho its very busy re all the different textures and shapes going on, i reckon it really works .... :)
