i love this image .. it was powerful before i read your comment .. its now more so ... i love the processing you've done .. it is dramatic in a very subtle way .. bit of a contradiction, but i'm sure you get the idea ...
anyway, i'm hoping you have a good sleep tonight after looking at my nightmare!! ..
i've read your comments here, and i feel for you in your pain .. i totally understand that working on a piece of art can heal your soul ... this site and my photography helps me too ... i've found it a wonderful place to share my creative side, which is the biggest side i have !! .. but also to get to know other ppl with a similar obsession .. i'm hoping that if you have time that you're in a team .. the team i'm in now called the harajuku girls is the most awesome thing since being in dpc .. we all seem to be getting to know each other so well and it is totally wonderful ..
this is a site that my nephew sent to me .. you might find it interesting .. i should'v put this in a pm but i'm in a hurry and so i'm putting it in here .. its about happiness .. about happiness ..

some folks call it an obsession

omg omg OMG.. for starters i live with a person with an obsession .. my daughter ... the simpsons .. and the family guy .. well that's two obsessions really .. she may have others i dont know about!!! .. the other reason for my omg's is that you look so much like her boyfriend matt .. he's also obsessed with the simpsons and the family guy .. and there's another one, that i cant be bothered remembering .. he doesnt have the tatt on his arm tho, or anywhere else .. altho i'm not sure about that either .. the mind boggles !!!!!!... oh yeah MATE .. wot lens ???:)

the guy in the chair does it for me .. like "would you get out'v my way already" .. i can feel the frustration .. great composition .. i've been meaning to do one of these for the last 5 months .. but i'd be using our dog .. think i could do something quite funny .. shame i cant bring sheep into the house tho coz that'd be even better ... :)

Day 14:bank

i'm back to this one after looking at some of your excellent images in the b&w challenge .. i find this one a bit dark and gloomy, i'm thinking that if you lightened this image and added more contrast and maybe lightened the vignette so that is was more of a suggestion, then i would like this one more ... its a great shot of the building .. it really shows its massiveness .. and the perspective gives a feeling of great height .. once again .. i'd like to know your lens etc .. :):)

Day 2: how the mighty have fallen

another excellent image and so different to your 'storm is brewing' .. for starters i love your title .. those clouds just lead you right into this image along with those branches .. i'd be inclined to add more contrast by dodging those clouds and maybe a bit of the branches .. but thats only my opinion .. i'd really like to know your processing and the lens you used .. like we're really trying to learn here and that sort of info is vital .. just looking at an image is only part of the story .. :):):)

excellent balance .. great in b&w ... absolutely love those reflections in the windows and doors, they lift this image up enormously and give more contrast .. great detail .. :)

More Fence

wow .. this is so squiggly .. just love those fence posts sort'v falling over and then the tree, just about totally fallen over ... its a very dark image without much contrast, but in a way it goes with the tree etc and the feeling of a death and dying sort'v .. the contrast on the fence posts lifts this image .. :)

Day 21 - Light

wow rob .. excellent image . .. love the shapes and curves in this image .. notice your process steps ... you didnt mention adjustment layers?? .. they are excellent .. much better to use for curves and levels etc than creating a new layer .. you can paint in the adjustment layer with the brush tool in black to erase the effect and paint with white to get it back .. you can adjust both the size of your brush and its opacity to create more subtle adjustments and you can then change the actual adjustment layer's opacity .. its a much better way, than doing it all on a new layer ..
and of course you may already know all that .. in which case you can tell me to go take a hike!!!!:) ..
i'm getting new lens .. a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro ... i have to wait 14 days for delivery .. its gonna be the longest 14 days of my life!!!! .. :)
