Beautiful scene. Can't decide if this is a model or the real thing. My only coment is that the colors could be more intense. Love the foggy effect. Couple of questions if I may: Where was this taken and why the canvas over the gun ports.

I would have never ever considered a Radio Flyer "low tech". Best machines ever made to this day! Even with the plastic hubs. Beautiful shot. BOL

With all the things going for this shot my only complaint is that the pen is plastic instead of the old fashion quill, or better yet, a feather quill! I feel either of those would have dotted the "i" and fit the theme to a '"t"! Still, nicely done. BOL

Excellent reference to the theme and a clear photo. I realize this was taken on a photo table and you may have not been able to pull back but. . . but the fact that you didn't left the cropping too congested cutting off the handle and the base. I also think less background light would have dramatically emphasized the coals. The flames definitely add to the scene. BOL

Nicely done. Please tell me that this is a real print. When this challenge is over, I would love to hear how you took this shot. I tried something similar, for a different challenge, in gold leaf but had no where near the detail you got. BOL to you.

Unfortunately, dangling a alligator over him would have been funnier.
