Weird but cool. Too bad you were limited by basic editing on this - it would be most interesting without the pattern on the rug as a distraction, and if some of the highlights were toned down. But I like the risks you take in trying these types of shots - keep 'em coming!

I read your comments and had a good giggle, because I've sometimes been prone to putting in DNMC photos even though I know what the result will be. But hey, you got a favorite, and that counts more than a good score in my book. This photo has very nice interaction between the horse and girl, and the color temp is spot on. But as you said, really doesn't meet the challenge, so of course you were voted low despite it being a very solid photo.

There are a lot of horse photos in the challenge, but this one is something special. Those whites are so perfectly exposed, and the fence provides balance and context. Very, very well done.

Jeb, is this yours? At any rate, whoever took this, it is sublime. The sunburst from the clouds coming down on the barn is simply gorgeous. The only thing keeping me from giving this a 10 is it looks slightly oversharpened, so 9. Wonderful photo.
