I find this a most interesting photo, and under-appreciated by the voters. I really like the sense of chaos, which could be a deliberate metaphor for the war. I think you should consider entering this in some different venues. It may not be the "right" kind of eye-candy shot for DPC, but has a lot of merit and is a photo of which you should be proud.

Ernie - I really like this a lot - I was one of your 7's. I think the interplay of textures is very interesting and doubtlessly unappreciated by the voters. The only thing that kept me from an even higher vote is that I'd like to see a little more of the river and just a bit less gray in the snow. Nicely done!

Jeb, this is a beautiful scene and I love the lines in the tree branches. I do think this would have more impact if the tree stood out a bit more from the background, but realize that may have been an artistic choice on your part.

I find it interesting and artistic, but find myself wishing for one thing - that the beautiful lines in the top left extended down further. I was one of your 7's, by the way. It's nice to see a truly creative take on this challenge.

Terry, I think this is really beautiful. I was one of your 9's. I'm a bit stumped by those who gave you 1's, 2's, 3's and 4's - what were they thinking? My only nit is the bush on the left-hand side - it pulls my eyes out of the photo a bit - I think it would be stronger with some clean space in that area. However, it's a minor nit, and this is a very, very strong photo with a story to it. Great title, by the way.
