Day 6: Waiting for the Trainby bobonacusComment: Nice effect. I like the sharpness of the boards in the center. There isn't much detail in the distance, but I've decided I don't mind that. The lines lead me there, but my eye returns to the center where there is nice detail and depth to the image. Thanks for sharing that nice sepia Photoshop action. |

Bearded Dragon Profile P&S #5by robinssongComment: I was wondering about the sharpness of this -- something seemed a bit off about the image. It was sharp, yet the details were somewhat lacking. After reading your notes, I see why. I love photographing iguanas, there is so much detail in their skin, yet it is sometimes hard to capture the details, because of the reflective nature of the skin. Often my shots have blown highlights. Nice pose, nice composition, and I like the light and DOF. |

Day 5by tpbremerComment: What will you think of next. Is the peephole a standard piece of equipment for your camera bag? From the thumbnail, this looked like a shot of an astronaut all suited up for a space walk. Interesting. Thanks for sharing the setup. |

Aerial Photography, P&S Challenge 5by MelonMusketeerComment: However did you manage to capture this with such precise focus?! What an interesting and colorful fly. Really fine example of the capabilities of a P&S camera. (I think you should list the camera in the Photograph Info section.) |

big horseby tnunComment: I like the strands of hay hanging in the mane. And I like the windows in the background. They balance the heavy close up of the subject. I like the b&w conversion -- nice contrast and light. |

little snailby tnunComment: I like your story of trying to get this portrait. I really like it and envy it, because I haven't ever gotten a shot of a snail -- only empty shells. The tiny glass makes the snail look quite large -- interesting effect. I think its a terrific capture and composition. It lacks a bit of light. Perhaps a white balance adjustment, to make the background less gray would help. Try a curves layer in luminosity mode. |

Green Stink Bug #4 P&Sby robinssongComment: My first impression was -- GREAT, I love the detail and DOF and the bug itself. Then I thought I'd like to see it better. I agree with Bassbone, a bit of brightening would help. |

P&S Challenge 4by MelonMusketeerComment: I'm afraid I agree with you -- not much of a photo. But at least you did your experiment, and hopefully learned something for your effort. |

Silly Wabbit, P&S Challengeby MelonMusketeerComment: Oh my goodness, this is really interesting. It looks like it is still an embryo. Do you raise rabbits, or did you find this? You must have used a macro setting. This is a very clear closeup. Message edited by author 2008-04-24 23:43:37. |

Dark Sky with Gulls #3 P&Sby robinssongComment: Lovely. There is an odd feeling about this. Because of the darkness, it feels like a bright moonlight shot. But the birds wouldn't be standing around at night. I like the way the birds and the tree stand out against the lightest part of the sky. |
