Color Wheel in B&W

I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to set this up so perfectly. Even if I had this idea, which I didn't, and even if I could have taken such a good clear photograph, which I can't, I would never have been able to set it up without having a mess. There is not one thing out of place here, and I am astonished once again by your ability.

Still Snarky

Comment:
Oh, I love this one. I see Snarky does have eyes. He must have been sleeping before, or maybe he blinked. I like this composition and the mushrooms. It's interesting to see the size of the world from his point of view. Beautiful DOF and focus.

e.t.a.: Snarky looks so cute here (who could ever imaging a cute slug?), that I think you have the beginnings of a good children's storybook.

Astonishing how drivers walk away from wrecks like this. Just goes to show that we could protect ourselves better when traveling the highways if we wanted to spend the money and be uncomfortably clothed. Great capture. Congratulations on a new PB and the high placement in the challenge. I don't know why this didn't score 6+, but some people have been voting very low lately. I can't see any justification for the 1, 2, and 3 votes here.

I like this composition -- it's nicely balanced, and I like the focal sweet spot off center like that. Nice texture and light. There seems to be the hint of a smile in the lower right, and he really does look well loved. Over all, this image makes me smile. I enjoy it a lot.

Comment:
It doesn't look much like a pomegranate seed to me because the color is off -- too yellow. But that doesn't matter; you can make it any color that appeals to you, and I do like the color of this image. I really like the composition. I think this could be very good with some more work on focus and lighting. (I'd use the healing brush on those black spots.)

That's a clever subject. They are very interesting at this distance. I like the color tones and DOF. The lighting is nice too.

Oh, I really like the strength in this image. It is beautifully simple and the b&w is exquisite. The crop feels a little tight on the top, but other than that I think it is wonderful.

Gorgeous color throughout the image! The detail on that bug is fascinating and beautiful. It looks like it is adorned with jewels.

I like it. I like the smooth curves and the and color. The background works very well for this. I wonder how Snarky lives. He seems to have no nose or mouth or eyes.

Mr. Critter

Comment:
The water is an interesting addition, but I think I like the smooth shell better. And there seems to be more texture in the fur on the first one. This is very nice, but my vote is for Mr. Elephant Beetle.

P.S. The seed pods are much nicer in this shot -- rich color and clear focus, but since the beetle is the primary subject, I'll still go with #1.
