This is such a powerful topic to have chosen. I love everything about the setup and processing, the lense effect adds so much to the tone ...except the expression on the child's face. Can't decide if he is making a mockery face with a send-up, over the top "pretend" crying or if he is bewailing the loss of the death penalty? Better perhaps to have had hid standing staring at the noose with an expressionless look on his face...

Lovely..but you may find that you get criticised for not having included your year in the title...? I like the subject, but the background is distracting and doesn't help the image. The money pig on a black background would have been great.

I love this example. The level of grain is a bit distracting and to an extent spoils this for me. Grain works really well in some pictures, but I would have liked a sharp focus of the subject.

Hmmm.. it meets the challenge, but I find it lacks a "story" or that it says anything about you, or the era... As is, would have made a tighter crop and enriched the hues.

Could be effective, but I find the composition OOF and not tightly cropped enough. A little bit of post processing would go a long way.

Hmmm, yes it meets the challenge criteria, and it is cropped well, and it has interesting grain and colour, but it doesn't tell a story as such: I am not emotionally moved by the picture...it doesn't hold my interest...maybe a lack of mystery,story,detail that invites the viewer to spend some time looking at it...?
