Come Closerby jab119Comment: great depth and texture. love the shallow depth...must be one of them sexy F2.8 telphoto lenses, or you're remarkably brave and got up close. nice shot. |

Warmthby joannsComment: this is pure pro. beautifully lit, nicely posed, though maybe a little still or unnatural or something. the model's expression is fantastic - she looks comfortable in front of the camera, which speaks volumes about the photographer in my mind. i could do without the bevelled inside edge on the border, but that's not something i'd deduct points for by any means. well done. |

Rachelby dsa157Comment: Beautiful but melancholy portrait. very nicely lit/exposed. would have liked to see a little more contrast between she and her background, and maybe a little dodging of the highlights in her eyes. it makes me sad to look at, which means you've captured something very well. |

The Guitaristby timj351Comment: the grain rocks, but i'd have preferred a little more contrast in the blacks...i don't even mind the blown highlights in his right hand.
creative submission; against the grain, so to speak :) well done.

Munising Fallsby pitsamanComment: those are some intensely saturated greens. love long exposures on moving water too. I might have cropped a little tighter on the left, only because those trees don't have the awesome light that the ones on the right do. great shot.

Aloft by BradComment: awesome work on the background. I assume there's some burning in there, but there's very little evidence of it, which must have been aPITA with all the detail in the mast and rigging. I really like the crop on this, and the toning is superb. bumping to an 8. |

Awakeningby kirbicComment: is that a long exposure? if not, you found some freaky fog. very cool. You might try dodging the highlights a bit in the foreground to bring out a bit more detail. i like it.

All the Good Thingsby mbardeenComment: i shot some skylines like this the other day, and had the same dilemma; go with the angled horizon, or rotate to give the illusion of level ground. I'm sure you've had some comments about it already, which is too bad because your perspective is actually perfect upon close examination. great exposure as well - these will usually get some blown highlights and/or fringing. well done. bumping a point from my original vote. |

An eye on the cider press.by jjbeguinComment: nice tones, though it could use a little extra contrast in my eyes. Beautiful diagonals, and i love how they follow his gaze. very very nice. bumped to an 8 because it makes me smile. |

hole 12, par 4by willemComment: either infrared or a nuclear winter. for your sake I'll hoping for the IR. :) Neat shot...makes the clouds really pop. not sure how well the DPC crowd will receive it, but i think it's good. I lost the flag though...it took a minute to see it. love the repeating lines inthe clouds and trees. very nice.
