Awsome picture.
the warm colors that the sub gives the gator blends beautifully with the green around.
I love it!

The log that bits. Great focus and detail. Great work and good luck. 9

Different. The composition would have been a bit better, in my opinion, if the subject had been arranged more diagonally in the frame. Couldn't you get him to cooperate?

I love this one. The colors and everything. How did you dare to get so close?

I love this shot. Great DOF, and just amazing job isolating the croc from the water. The water almost looks painted on.

It's almost as if the head is floating in the air. Feels cropped a bit too tight on the right side. Colors seem towards red a bit. The DOF is a bit distracting with all the out of focus leaves or whatnot. 5

How'd you get that close :) good job 8

I think the cropping is a bit too tight. A bit of context would've make it perfect - like the river/lake/pool bank.

i gave you a 7 because the subject is great and the image is good but i feel there is just a bit too much green on the bottom

This is a trip and an image that leaves a burnt impression in the mind of the viewer. The clarity of the reflection bogles the mind and almost makes this image a transvestite into another photography style. It is both conventional and modern!

The eye has no choice but to lock right in. It looks about but it can not get enough of the eye. This is by far the most hypnotic image in this challenge expertly captured. Bumping you to 7. This vote is certain to hurt me because I am way below 7. But I rather you receive your due credit for this lovely image. Mind you, it is an image whose beauty may be lost to some voters. Great effort: great study.

Excellent, almost surreal, image. I like the colors and the slightly offset reflections.

Beautiful image.. wonder how you got the background to look the way it does..

neat symmetry in the reflection. I like the beady marble eye of the reptile. snout looks a bit out of focus, though.

Great wildlife candid. The short DOF removes a lot of the ripples and other surface detail of the water, which brings more focus onto the animal, but makes it seem a bit unnatural for such a natural image. The colors are wonderfully vivid.

No thanks, I won't come closer. Nice clean picture, good sharp focus, nice reflection. Maybe a bit more empty space would not hurt.

great depth and texture. love the shallow depth...must be one of them sexy F2.8 telphoto lenses, or you're remarkably brave and got up close. nice shot.

Wow, great shot here!!! The detail in this is brilliant, the DOF getting it is amazing! There's some wee spots that could have been removed maybe? Well done! 10

That is spooky, seriously! I'm hoping this was taken in a zoo, LOL!

This is a wonderful shot, I wonder how long you waited for it. The clairty of the eyes and such, if the nose was also clear I would have not hesitated to give this a 10, but the nose is a bit distracting to me, sorry, a 9

Jeez it took me a minute to figure out what this was...I can be a bit slow... ahem. I would not fare well running from this guy! Nice shot, great reflections, though the lil nose sticking out isn't very focused... overall, though, I enjoyed!

Reminds me of moodvilles 'caiman' which i love. The clarity in the reflection is perfect. Maybe a tighter crop? 7

I might have tried darkening just a tad. You've capture a menancing expression, and I hope you wre using a telephoto lens.

Reminds me very much of Kiwiness' shot, and I'm afraid this one doesn't have quite the same impact. I wish more of the snout were visible, as it takes a little while to work out what is facing which direction. Just a little more dof would have been great. Love the blurred green. 7

Good use of only getting what you want in the photo. ANd the lighting helps create drama.

Lighting - subject is well lit in the right spots
Colour - good contrast between the main subject and the background, wonderful palette of green for the background.
Composition - good placement , draws the viewer to the main focal point - maybe just a little too tight a crop on the right. Good use of depth of field,
Exposure - There seems to be some bright spots on the head and around the eye - 1/3 of a stop (or even less) less exposure would probably tone this down a bit
Focus seems to be a bit soft. 8

Excellent shot. Love the green BG, the reflection, the crop. Awesome.

I like this shot, the colours and DoF are great. I would have preferred to see the croc/aligator in the bottom half of the frame with green above, rather than the other way round, but that's just a personal preference. Having the nose in focus would help a bit too. 7

This is really good. Color looks a bit blue, but I assume it either looked like that, or you did it on purpose. "Cold Blooded Killer" might have worked as a title for this as well.

I had to look at this for a few seconds before I realized what it was. Great reflective image. I like the way a small portion of the snout pops out of the water towards the front. What an ominous stare this creature has!

I really like this one. The color is nice, and the shallow DOF gives the reflections a nice softness. One of my top picks.

how about a 90 degree CW rotation?

Indeed! Nice reflection, good composition. He does seem rather small though for the title, not sure how I can tell this without something to judge his size by. Perhaps cloning out the spot would have been a good idea.

I like the way the water reflects the background, and though there's not much you could've done to change it (I understand how shooting animals is) I think it would've been a nice effect if the ripples from his movement were more visible. 6

I love this pic...very awesome...just perfect...I do see about 11 spots of sensor dust (sorry). But that didn't change anything...this pic is 1 of 5 with my highest score. email me if you would like me to send you this pic with them highlighted

Excellent wildlife study. What fortune to have such a subject. The emerald green colors and the bluish tinge of the croc blend well. The gaussian blur is great effect. Those eyes are piercing.

Great detail in the gator and I really like color and blur of the water. You can just about feel the glide and stealth of this gator as it swims. You've also captured very well the formidible look of the creature and wonder what prey it has it's eyes on. Cropping is a bit close on the snout but doesn't detract all that much Very well done. 9

Super Shot! Focus and composition are excellent as is the lighting. I wish that the nostrils were just a bit more in focus. The green reflection works well too.
