Enough dof to get the entire insect in focus is really called for here, as the insect is the only thing in the shot. Nice details on the parts that are in focus.

Day 5 - The Valley

Even in black and white, the photomatrix effect is obvious on a photo. Nice details in the sky, gets a little muddled on the bottom half in such a sea of flora. Splitting shots in half with the horizon line is generally something to avoid, and I don't know that it is doing you any favors here. Perhaps 1/3rd land 2/3rds sky would let even more of that great sky detail shine through.

Lack of creativity is not wht jumps to mind when looking at this. I actually like the subject and the lighting. A little attention to the composition/crop would make it more appealing maybe. Still, I don't think it's that bad.

It's a tough scene. You can up the contrast but basically this picture is dark tones on top,middle tones on bottom and a splash of white off center. Very little distinction within those 3 areas so it will be hard to keep this from looking like a bit of a wash in black and white. Might look very nice in color.

Clock Tower

This would look a lot better were the tower vertically aligned with the edge of the frame. The processing is a love/hate thing. The big blotch of white in the sky isn't really working for me, but overall I kind of dig what you've done with the shot in post.
