Day 10 - The Messageby ArtysteComment: I really like this - the DOF, the quirky messages, the tonal contrasts. Not bad at all for a spur of the moment capture, I should be so lucky! |

day-11-portrait.jpgby mawearComment: You have an attractive range of light tones here. For my tastes, there's too much blur - I'd like to see the model in slightly greater focus, especially her torso and head, as a contrast to all the blur around her. |

Rooted in Sandby noranekoComment: Gorgeous range of tones throughout the image and good choice for this tree as a subject - the angling and "messy" branches give it character and gives us a good foreground point of interest in a spare and elegant landscape. |

San Pietroby Rino63Comment: Very interesting use of grain to an extreme - at first view I was put off by it, but it's beginning to grow on me. It lends far more drama to the scene, especially to the sky, than probably was in the original capture. The framing is very nice, especially with the relatively empty foreground except for the nun walking toward the viewer. I think we forget sometimes that this is how photos used to look, before we had the ability to make them all smooth and shiny. Nice job. |

Day 11.jpgby edmengComment: Wow, I like how the lines in this shot take your eyes up into it on the left (stairs) and then swoops you over and back down on the right, where it then takes you back into it again (tracks). I really like this. |

Velaby Rino63Comment: Love the choice of portrait orientation and how you placed it in the frame - very crisp looking shot. I wonder if the shot could be processed to get a bit more contrast in the background and reduce the blown-out bits of the sky. Then again, I don't know if better contrast in the background would help the image - as it is now, the foreground subject just pops out at you in relation to the relatively uniform midtones of the background. Well, it's a thought. :) |

Day 8 - The Little Medusaby ArtysteComment: Her hands are beckoning, like, "come to me, so I can slap you up the side of your head", LOL. The light coming at her from the side adds a dimension of drama to her expression. This is one cool capture. |
