untitledby LevTComment: Definitely a multipurpose room - the dogs even seem slightly ill at ease. The unusual jumble works, though - makes you stop and wonder about it. |

s for swirl, s for spiralby arati_halbeComment: Nice angling of the swirls so that they point in a diagonal across the frame. I agree with posthumous that the black background seems jarring, not quite right. |

On the Prowlby JedusiComment: Scary fanged beast emerges from the blinding light - gives me shivers. :) Very effective - nice expression of a leopard, rather than just a straight representation. |

End of summerby LevTComment: Looks a bit like a realistic painting - has a sadness to it. Somewhat bleak view, bleakly viewed through a window pane design suggestive of prison bars. I like that you can see some part of the sill at the bottom, that it isn't completely obscured in shadow. |

Curlicues by noranekoComment: WOW! Congrats on the Blue, Catherine - this is beautiful! Great composition and echoing of shapes foreground and background. |

Afternoon Petalsby Bear_MusicComment: This is quite lovely - especially like how you composed those petal tips in the frame. The variety of directions in the dips of the petals gives it a nice energy. |

LennonDakota.jpgby pawdrixComment: Impressive - I like the transparency and the overall mood. Whereas the small little points of light might be good for just the landscape shot, I'm thinking that point visible just below his glasses (his left eye) and the two points visible through the trees on the far right distract too much. Overall, really digging this concept - quite beautiful and elegiac. |

5:30by seeComment: A Redneck in more ways than one, eh, Alan? That's quite a burn you've got there. ;) So sorry this got slammed - soft focus is not easy to do. If you had more distance between yourself and the fence, the background would have been much more abstracted and blurred and you would have stood out more strikingly in front of it, even in soft focus (if that's the sort of effect you wanted). |

I Love Youby sherpetComment: Very creative idea to achieve soft focus in camera - when I first saw this I thought it was taken through a shower door. Would be interesting to see shots of these, as the ice melted away. |

Carriage House in the Morning Mist.....by NikonJebComment: Perfect setting for soft focus, and overall you've got a very pleasing composition going, with the trees only glimpsed in parts. I do find myself wishing we could either see more of the house, or none of it - the little we can see, especially given that what is most noticeable is the striking contrast of the white shutters, imo detracts from the over restfulness of the shot. I don't know if that makes any sense - I guess what I mean is that my first impression was to squint and go "what's that in the middle of the shot?" instead of taking it all in with a more laid back gaze (the presentation overall suggests a laid back response was what you were going for). |
