Red roses are always a sign of love to me, so called this one "I Love You".
I put three red roses covered in water in the freezer overnight, to freeze them in ice, for this image.
Some of the buds and leaves were uncovered, when I remoned them from the container, and the parts covered in ice gave them a soft focus look.
I took some photos in the raw format of the frozen three roses, and then processed them in photoshop.
Very little processing, with only remove Noise, Dust and Scratches, Shadows and Highlights, Unsharp Mask, and then added "Gaussian Blur" to the image.
Cropped, added border, and then re-sized, and saved for web.
Enjoy..... |

Very creative idea to achieve soft focus in camera - when I first saw this I thought it was taken through a shower door. Would be interesting to see shots of these, as the ice melted away. |

What a great and imaginative idea, Shez! While I like the approach for this challenge, I also hope you took some with the blooms in focus as I think that would be pretty cool, with the rest of the plant encased in ice. |

Seems out of focus, not soft focus. I'd like to see how this works as a sharp image. I think it would be great. |

This looks more out of focus than softly focused. Good arrangement of subjects, and a silly but pleasing little addition that the frame has soft edges too. |
