Overlay makes for a very interesting sky - like an aurora. I get your sense of ambivalence from this image though - like you were going for a certain something and didn't quite get there. Keep pushing, you may find it yet. Like, what do you mean that the building "deserves" better?

I like how the texture adds a bit of interest to the antlers. Deeply colored background sets the deer apart well.

This does have an interesting effect, kind of like what you spilled on it had a caustic or corrosive effect to the print's inks.

A tomato on the lens? Man, the lengths to which you will go... Icky and about as real-looking as I can believe - you should have gotten a better score, if only for the effort at verisimilitude. Honestly - the shot makes me queasy, wouldn't be hanging a copy of it on my wall anytime soon, but dang, I bow to your superior imagination and ingenuity. :)
