Grief, Sorrow, Peace and Joyby griz210Comment: David, I gave this a 7. I remember when voting, though, that I tried to match the title to the pictures, and it doesn't work. I finally decided the title referred to life and death in general. |

Let It Rideby colorcarnivalComment: Michelle, I don't see this conveying extreme emotion. I think this might be a case where you expected viewers to react the same way you do, which is always a risky proposition. I happen to love thrill rides. :) But the problem for me was not getting much emotion from the people.
As an image apart from the challenge, thought, it's really fun. It has lots of little surprises scattered around, encouraging me to explore. And the colors are really pretty. |

Pure Concentrationby BrookiedComment: I like the shot just as an image outside the challenge. I think cropping a little looser might better convey the sense of speed. I'd also try cloning the color of the main rail all the way across to get rid of the little bit of green, but that's minor. |

Extreme Eco-Affectionby skewsmeComment: I really like this whimsical take on the challenge. It's just a fun shot that makes smile, esp. as a devoted tree-hugger myself! Message edited by author 2007-08-06 23:48:46. |

Magdalena's "Big Figures" by LaMasComment: I quite like the composition, lighting, and tones. I stand by my comment during the challenge of not understanding the extreme emotion, but as an image on its own, I like it. |

Green Trash Canby jaysonmcComment: I want to name it something outlandish as a counterpoint to the mundane subjects. Something like "The Receptacle of Commuting Woes." :) The colors are fun, as is the blur. I would've tried cropping out the sky and part of the top of the train.
It feels unbalanced, though, as if the rushing train had blown the green trash can from where it belongs over on the left. Maybe that's the title: "Wind-blown, Off-Balance." |

Different Seasonsby noranekoComment: I still like this, Catherine. :) The colors are just wonderful, and the textures really help to set the leaf off. And the composition is just great. I wonder whether some different editing could've brought out the detail in the leaf a little more, but that's minor. |

Balancing Actby bdennyComment: Congrats on a different take! Wow, what a score and placement, and hooray for your new personal best! :) I really like the vertical orientation of a classic still life subject. The background shading works nicely to highlight the fruit, too. And the green/red combination in the apples is a sweet visual treat. |

so sweet and so coldby posthumousComment: An interesting choice in many ways, Don. I like the top-down angle as opposed to the standard of looking across at some objects. The shadows add quite a bit of interest. I think I might have cropped a bit off the bottom, but that's minor. Overall, I'm guessing it just didn't grab people's attention. |
