vine ripe tomatoes and fresh mozzarella with pepper and garlic infused extra virgin olive oilby mefnjComment: I want to say how yummy this looks, because I'm certain it tasted wonderful when you ate it, but there's something off-putting about the contrast. It feels like you messed with the brightness/contrast in order to blow out the background, and in turn, gave the tomatoes an unappealing darkness? Also, the shadows are very dark. I would have diffused your light source more to create a softer shadow. |

Reminiscing by CuttoothComment: Who let you off the island??
Love the image. I like how the colors are almost muted and then PAZOW... bright orange flowers. The combination of the muted colors and the bright "look at me!" colors distracts from the fact that there's cars on the bridge. I didn't even think to look for cars for a couple minutes when looking at it. The square crop was an excellent choice that really accents the composition. |

Rained Outby moosequitoComment: Originally posted by littlemav: I LOVED this, it should be wayyyy up towards the top. Try to make you pix larger next time I size my final at 800 pix on the high side, and then save for web in Photoshop, if you don't have PS do that size and then take the res to 72. That should keep your shot large and get under the 300 mg allowance for DPC . I think that's the ONLY reason this is placed so low. |
I agree, this was worth more than it received, but it's strictly because the image is so small. I've noticed your other entries have also been under the 800px max. In addition to littlemav's advice, here's a tutorial that may help.

Firefliesby bob350Comment: I so miss the fireflies from when I lived in Indiana. Such amazing little creatures. I will admit, I was always very confused by my amusement when they'd splat on my windshield. It's so neat watching their glow streak up the window, yet so sad that you've just ended their precious little life.
You've done a pretty good job capturing their glow. I wouldn't have thought it would really show up, but I guess 10 seconds is the trick. |

prolonged non-amusementby skewsmeComment: Originally posted by littlemav: U should get many extra points for keeping a cat still for 10 seconds! I do really like this! |
That's exactly what I was thinking. Is it even possible to get a cat to hold still this long? Sure he looks pretty content in with his little blanket, but still. My cat constantly turns his head when I want his picture. |

Driveby armando_mComment: These images always crack me up, because they look like they're going so fast, but then you look at the speed gauge and they're not going nearly that fast. You're barely moving, lol. Really nice job on this.

Sunset in a cloudy townby denissprayComment: Nice leading line that carries the viewer out onto the jetty. There's some great misty stuff going on with the foreground small rocks too. |
