What are the odds that a professional horsewoman would draw this one to critique? Very interesting stance in the foreground horse, that rested hind leg indicates that he is at ease. At a guess I would say the b/g horse is a possible successor to the foreground horse, who to my eye looks quite a bit older. B/g horse looks to be younger and in much better weight.
Now onto the shot. Very dramatic pose, setting is amazing, and the camera settings are what I would expect to see in this situation. Lords-of-the-Rings quality to the shot. Would love to know if these are feral or domesticated horses.
Overall, how can I find flaws in a shot that I would have given at least an 8 had I voted? Even knowing it's been pp'd, I can't see it.
Gorgeous shot. Great work!

Lovely tones of blue here, nice use of the moon for drama and illumination (to an extent anyway). Like that you did very basic editing, that's my fave too :-) I wonder about the high ISO, after all the wall did well for stability. I would've gone down pretty low in ISO, closed down the aperture and left the shutter open a lot longer.
The comp does look busy, you could almost split this horizontally into two separate shots. The sets of boats battle it out for your eye. Almost a little glare off of the sodium lights.
Overall, not a bad shot, just needs a little more work. Go forth and shoot!

Great location for this shot, just cries out for long exposures and low ISOs and tons of dof...so in that respect you certainly nailed it. Composition is very pleasing for this land/seascape. Extra kudos for getting up early for the shot! And as a proud owner of that lens, I can appreciate its use here :-)
But...and there is always a but...as a fan and practitioner of very minimal editing, I find it a tad on the heavy side. I love the shot but would like to see it with less pp, or even sftc. The water looking silky is fine, but the sky and driftwood do draw my eye, as they just don't look right to me.

Not a bad shot, the composition is there with a good try at leading lines. However the red/blue light is dangerously close to the frame, I agree with Nadine in terms of the balance of the lights.
Close down the f-stop, then open up the shutter. Get as much dof as you can, unless you are going for a bokeh shot. Scene is a little static, only the colour draws the eye to the right hand light.
FWIW, if this is doable and you feel like playing around and have a tripod, try this: return to this location with your red/blue lights. Stop down as much as you can, leave the shutter open long enough (bulb setting, possibly) and relocate the lights so they are underneath all three lights in their turn. That way you should get all 3 lights in focus with similar lighting on them.
Hope this helps, keep up the good work!

First off, very pleasant shot. The b/w treatment is interesting but works well.
Excellent choice of really fast shutter speed as opposed to bumping up the ISO. All too often the ISO will be jacked up and the shutter speed slowed down, resulting in a shot both grainy and blurry.
Composition very well done, you caught that moment of your daughter blowing the bubble and the bubble slowly filling with air, beautifully. Glad that you didn't show much of her face; leaves a sense of mystery as to what she looks like...I feel some people rely too much on kids' intrinsic cuteness. Great leading lines with the bubble-mixture wand, brings everything to the fore.
Overall a very respectable finish, and I sense lots of promise here. Keep shooting!
