Indeed, what a monument to our insatiable appetite for growth and development! On the other hand I've always thought this would be a great job! If only we got to rebuild with parks and wildlife refuges instead of malls and parking lots. I like this shot a lot, though you've lost some detail in the shadows.

About 8 mpg, I'd guess! But when gas costs a nickel a gallon...who cares! Oh, for the good old days. Lets see, lets do the math here. 5 cents to five dollars is between 600% and 700% increase. 8 mpg to 60 mpg (at best) is less thatn 300%. So, relatively speaking the price of gas has more than doubled in real dollars since the 30's. Didn't you ask?

Hey, my mother had a Singer very similar to that, but probably much newer. I remember the folded up cabinet sitting in the hallway of our house as I was growing up. Great processing.
