"Nuovo Vita" - New Lifeby RikkiComment: I like how the center of the flower looks like a funnel, black hole of sorts. With teeth. Hah! I know this wasn't really the intention, given that it's a "Something New" shot, but today I'm just looking at flower pics as flowers and not one bit how they fit the challenges if they were challenge entries. I very likely would have cropped the white out of the upper left corner to enhance this effect, probably a slightly tighter square in which the flower fills the entire frame. Nice crisp focus on the center. You also win brownie points for the Italian, cuz I'm a total sucker. Mi piace li foto! Buona notte, amico! ;-) |

flower.jpgby totaldisComment: Nice pic! Maybe a little more green stem (leaves?) to balance out the red a bit. But I like the flower on the wood grain. |

Walkin' On Sunshineby tlalondeComment: I don't think it's a boring shot. It's a really nice composition. However, the noise does work against it. It makes the insect look pixelated. This would be fantastic as a really crisp b/w. :-) |

Calla Lillyby ZippyComment: I really like the barely there abstract of this. It's very graceful. |

Some Yellow Flowersby dleachComment: Oooh, yes! Yellow columbine! They say it grows here (in Colorado), but I've never seen any in the wild yet, just our lovely blue variety. Excellent focus, nice color. They look like shooting stars! |

Natural Beautyby L1Comment: Echinecea is one of my all-time favorite flowers. This is a particularly gorgeous capture. The depth is nice, the bee is a stroke of luck, and I love the sharpness of the cone. |
