Day 2 - Feeding Timeby bdennyComment: Cool idea :)
I might like to see it a little brighter, a little highlight boost to really draw out the contrast. |

Day One: F & Sby Art RoflmaoComment: Nice tones here. I think you've got one of the coolest faces to photograph on DPC, and I'm glad we get to see it so often :-) |

Day 1: May Dayby Blue MoonComment: I don't think you went "sharpen crazy" at all! I like the texture in the darker areas, the effect of the black on black. I don't mind the white ones to the side, but some of the background in the upper left is distracting. I think b/w often needs simpler backgrounds since color isn't available to us to pop the subject - it falls to texture and contrast. |

Day 1by walrus451Comment: Nice! I might try a slight burn over the lips to give them a little more contrast, but not too much since dark lips in b/w look like lipstick. Maybe over the freckles, too, since they're too awesome to gloss over. :-) |

dead-treeby poserComment: One thing I find shooting b/w is that the textures need to be really simple. We can't rely on color to make our subject pop anymore, so the textures must do that instead. |

Doomedby Beautiful-JoeComment: The vulnerability is stunning. It definitely evokes a strong emotional response. The eyes say it all. |

If I wasn’t chained… by edmengComment: Originally posted by AChelton: Originally posted by hajeka: I like this photo, but it's not about a chain. |
Im just wondering how you couldn't see the chain :/ haha
good picture though. |
Probably because the eye goes to the sails first, gets lost in their detail, and doesn't really want to drift down to the big shadowy thing where the chain actually is. It took me a few seconds to see the chain, too. Very nice photo nonetheless. |
