interesting perspective. one thing I notice, is the bright spots of moisture? Items like that are always my trouble... just doesn't feel right ya know? I think what it is, is that they are so bright, if you try to add more contrast, they really blow out, while everything else is still kinda flat... I enjoy the idea, and wonder what the colour version would look like. Maybe, next time, take a sheet of white paper and help de-fuse the flash a bit... sometimes it helps. |

One of the things I like about this is there's really no way to tell how big or small that thing is - makes it a neat mystery. |

A really great capture of this, whatever type of plant it is..... |
You wouldn't want to eat it. I think it is skunk cabbage. If it is I can't believe how I have disregard converting it to black and white. What a great enhancement. Now I have to go out to shoot skunk cabbage again, and convert to black and white. You did a great job on all levels. Thanks for the inspiration. |

Looks like the Thing from the Lagoon... what is it? Great photo of a freaky plant. Love the contrast and the crop. |

I like the lines of this. Nice choice for B&W. Has mystery about it like it might be home to a woodland fairy. :) |

I really like severe closeups of plants. Always have. I really like the moisture and texture that comes thru beautifully in this b/w. |

Great job with the flash. Love the B/W tones that you have achieved along with the shallow DOF. |
